Open world portal to T.O. Morrow's Hideout in Gotham
A walk-in is a dungeon-like type of solo instance that can be accessed via an open-world portal. In those instances, players' combat rating levels aren't clamped, but the rewards are limited, summaries aren't available, and the objectives don't refresh if the player immediately reenters them. While playing in a walk-in, it's possible to queue for any instance on the On Duty menu.
Classic Walk-ins[]
The classic walk-ins, sometimes referred as "story mode", are located throughout Gotham City and Metropolis (except for The Daily Planet, which can only be accessed via Watchtower or Hall of Doom). Some of them are only available specifically for characters of one of the three origins (Magic, Meta, or Tech), depending on the faction (hero or villain), but some of them are available to all heroes and/or villains in the form of challenges and duos with higher-level enemies and aditional bosses.

Episode Walk-ins[]
Episode walk-ins were added through DLC and are accessible via episode-related open-world missions. They usually don't have On Duty versions, and some of them can only be accessed once per character.

Trivia[]
- Although designed to be solo instances, previously formed groups can access them, making possible for players of all origins to achieve feats and collect briefings and investigations that are mentor-exclusive.
- If you accept to join an On Duty instance while in a walk-in, if you chose the "Return to Last Location" option, you will be teleported to the outside of the walk-in instance, and you'll have to restart it from the beginning.
