Walkthrough[]
First Trial: The Minotaur's Treasure[]
The objective of this fight is not to knock out the Minotaur; if he runs out of health, he's just going to heal himself and continue to fight endlessly. Players must use his charge attack to break the supporting chains in the corner in order to reveal his treasure, then make him trap himself in the room where he came from in order to take the treasure.
The charging (preceded by a skull alert) occurs a few moments after each wave of shades comes into the arena. Most of the time, the Minotaur will stop attack the player he's attacking at the moment and target another player to charge towards. The targeted player must not dodge if they're already in front of a chain, for the Minotaur will change its course based on their location; instead, they should block the attack in order to avoid taking any damage. Once the chains are broken, the team should focus their efforts on making him charge to the wooden planks that support the gates of the room in the back. Once he's trapped in the back room, the team can collect the treasure inside the palace urns and proceed to the portal to Medusa's Lair.
Recommended strategy: 1 tank to fight him inside the circle in the middle of the arena, while the other 3 players fight in front of one chain each. Once a chain is broken, the 3 players should place themselves in front of the remaining chains. The tank must be aware of each of the remaining chains in order to position themselves in a way that don't lure the boss away them. For the wooden planks, all 3 players should stand before them; the tank should fight the Minotaur at the room's entrance and make him face the planks.
Note: It's possible for players to be trapped in the room with the Minotaur. Once that happens, players can't warp to the rally point because they'll still be in combat mode. The only way out is waiting for the Minotaur to be responsive again and let him knock you out.
Second Trial: The Phoenix and the Eggs[]
The players return to the scenario of the Labyrinth of Lost Souls, but there's not need to guess your way through it this time. The Phoenix awaits following the path to the right, but players can only reach her once they collect at least 2 of the 3 cockatrice eggs in the rooms to the left--they'll be useful during the boss fight. Players must be aware if the Shade Punisher spawns; once she has a skull above her head, she'll unleash a devastating attack that will wipe the team, so she must be defeated first and foremost. After the team hits a dead end, they should go back to the entrance--in there, players can notice there's a cockatrice guarding a fourth egg. In order to collect the extra egg (feat attached), defeat the Phoenix first; then, each player has to stand on each of the golden phoenix floor tile in the labyrinth (one by the entrance, and another three in the Phoenix's room)--one of the players will be teleported to a secret location where they can fight the cockatrice and get 2 extra eggs (must be done BEFORE defeating Medusa; the teleportation won't work otherwise).
The Phoenix is the easier of the Trials. Players must knock her out in order to take her eggs and replace them for the cockatrice's. She will always revive after a short time, and only one egg can be replaced at a time.
Recommended strategy: players should watch out for when the Phoenix soars. That movement preceeds a charged attack, or a burning attack in which she will cast a semicircle of balls of fire in mid range, dealing burning over time. The damage is easily avoidable by coming closer or farther from the Phoenix.
Note: If the team doesn't collect at least 3 cockatrice eggs and use them to replace the Phoenix's, the she will enrage a few moments after the battle and cast an attack that will wipe the whole team, and the Phoenix will have to be defeated all over again. In order to avoid this fate, either replace all eggs or at least one of the team members must proceed to the next room as soon as possible. If part of the team remains in her room, she will enrage still, but she will fly away instead of attacking.
Final Trial: Medusa's Scale[]
The last trial consists of defeating Medusa to collect her scale. The crucial mechanic is to avoid being turned into stone, which can be done by turning your back to her once the skull appears over her head. If a player ends up being turned, another player has to pick them up and hit or throw them like an object to turn them back to normal.
Recommended strategy: Have in mind that Medusa is no fool: she'll try to make you turn your eyes to her by knocking you down with her tail; if you aren't blocking, she'll successfully turn you into stone.
Note: If the team didn't replace the eggs correctly, the Phoenix will arrive to avenge her offspring, and she'll have to be defeated before Medusa (feat attached).
