We're going to skip the gold and move on to the hardware. Don't worry. Psimon says "there are big bucks in weapon sales."" — Psimon

Walkthrough[]

The raid starts where the last one ended, after the room where you fought Terra. You will enter the room where a machine called the Enervator is holding the Titans captive. This is where you will confront the H.I.V.E. Master. You must defeat the H.I.V.E Master and free the Titans.

Staying up in the air is unusually advantageous in this raid, as it avoids most of the dangerous attacks (Enervator Beam, H.I.V.E. Bee-Wing, etc.) while there is a lack of grounding effects.

In the initial phase, he has a lethal attack where he shoots a continuous Enervator Beam out of his chest and sweeps 360 degrees, dealing massive damage to anyone who touches it (ignores Shield Powers).

After losing some health, he will infuse himself with all of the Titans' powers, one at a time (order is random). He changes to a new Titan's power set whenever he falls to 25% health, which also heals him to full. During the transition, he is untargetable and you must defeat mobs. When he has used all of their powers, that's the time to finish him.

In any phase, he can use Encase which traps a single target in a yellow sphere, dealing damage over time, and you must mash the required button to break out.

The most dangerous attack is not from him but flying H.I.V.E. Bee-Wings, which periodically appear behind the Enervator (north side) and bombard the area in a broad line with Air Assault, dealing one-shot damage even in normal difficulty (ignores Shield Powers). Standing right in front of the Enervator can avoid this as they are blocked by the Enervator itself and cannot fire into that area.

  • Beast Boy phase:
    • Several of each of Enervator Hounds, Enervator Birds, and Enervator Gorillas are summoned (disappears when his phase changes again).
    • H.I.V.E Master is able to shapeshift into those 3 forms with different attacks.
  • Starfire phase:
    • Fireball Barrage: The 4 Enervator consoles on the corners of the room take turns firing a salvo of several projectiles that fly across the room and damaging anyone they hit. Do not stand near them as this can cause you to be hit by multiple fireballs at once which can one-shot you.
    • Solar Embers: H.I.V.E. Master lobs fire projectiles that explode, damaging and knocking players away.
  • Raven phase:
    • Soul Tornado: Purple funnels rove around the area, pushing anyone away and damaging them.
  • Donna Troy phase:
    • Cosmic Explosion: Black hole-like hazards, damaging and dragging anyone nearby into the center constantly. Unlike Soul Tornadoes, they cannot move, but they can appear in the air.
    • Lasso Slam: H.I.V.E. Master stuns a single player with a blue lasso and slams them into the ground repeatedly for heavy damage.
    • Bracer Deflection: Warned by Lethal attack icon. H.I.V.E. Master reflects damage back to you if you attack him during this time. Afterwards, he would use Amazonian Aegis, damaging and knocking back nearby targets.
  • Cyborg phase:
    • Sonic Grenade: Grenades drop into the room (look like Rifle Grenades), and after a brief delay, damage and stun targets hit.
    • Sonic Detonation: A sonic wave that can deal massive damage in a line including through the tank.
    • Bolt Barrage

When he reaches low health on his final stage, you get a screen message saying that he is weak and tells you to finish him. Ironically this can be most dangerous because the stage mechanics will continue to be active, while he regains use of his most deadly attack, Enervator Beam.

There is a half-time break during this boss fight (after he has used the powers from 2 Titans), during which you are placed out of combat (so you get your health regenerated and you can change your role and abilities if necessary), and you will receive the first 4 Source Marks and loot items. Finishing him off will grant you 6 Source Marks and more loot items.

When he is defeated, for heroes, the Titans will be freed, grateful for your efforts; villains will betray Nightwing and keep the Titans trapped as Calculator teleports them out of the collapsing volcano.
