Walkthrough[]
Fight through the H.I.V.E. base. The first subboss occurs after Deathstroke sights the team and Jericho, and flees cursing the Titans for turning his son against him, locking them in the room with swarms of H.I.V.E. minions.
First boss: Defeat Incoming H.I.V.E. enemies + Guard Captain Buzzzcutt + Lieutenant Bombus[]
Mechanics:
This boss encounter consists of several waves of H.I.V.E enemies that will spawn on each door either side of the room. The group will need to defeat these and the tank/s will need to group them together.
There will also be H.I.V.E. Engineers that will spawn and walk towards one of six inactive turrets on either side of the room. If a H.I.V.E Engineer manages to activate one, the Sentry Turret will be activated and will deal damage (Ranged Attack) towards the group. When a turret is activated there will be onscreen text stating: "H.I.V.E. Turret Activated!".
Eventually Lieutenant Bombus will spawn from the east door and Guard Captain Buzzzcutt will spawn from the west door.
Lieutenant Bombus:
- Lieutenant Bombus may have a red skull icon before teleporting to the furthest player. It is best practice (especially in the elite version) to block when this occurs, as this may do heavy damage (Honeycomb Bomb).
- (More info needed)
Guard Captain Buzzzcutt
- Snare: The boss will throw a grenade that will explode and spawn a brief yellow AOE field. Does considerable damage and may stun affected players in range. (This Snare is more powerful than the Snare used by the H.I.V.E. enemies.)
- Buzz-Off: The boss will have a red skull icon above his head, before flipping up in the air and punching the ground while upside down (briefly). This does moderate damage and some knock back to nearby affected players.
After you have beaten both sub bosses, you will proceed through a small corridor with more H.I.V.E. enemies, and after you track down Deathstroke.
Second boss: Deathstroke[]
A fairly interesting but doable boss fight in both regular and elite versions. Can be tricky if players do not adhere to certain mechanics. Two tanks may be preferred for some groups in the elite version due to the neutralizer mechanic.
On PS, Hold Square to Lunge
Mechanics:
- Deathstroke has several red skull icon abilities that can be lunged/countered to interrupt. These include:
- Flashbang Grenade: Deathstroke will have a red skull icon above his head before blinking to the middle of the room. When he does this he will drop a grenade that will explode, dealing damage and knocking back affected players in range. He may also use this again during phase transitions.
- Staff Beam Sweep: Deathstroke will blink to the middle of the room and have a red skull icon above his head before doing a beam around himself 360 degrees. He will also have his own Supply Drop during this. This should be blocked/evaded by all group members to mitigate incoming damage, otherwise it does significant damage in the elite version especially. This will normally only occur once during the boss encounter, however if any players use a Supply Drop he will use it again and it will be stronger. When this mechanic occurs there will be onscreen text stating: "Deathstroke's Supply Drop has powered up his staff energy beam!" It is best practice not to use a Supply Drop during this boss encounter, especially in the elite version.
- Deathstroke may activate his Ikon Suit periodically throughout the boss encounter. He will say in voiceover: "Ikon suit, activated." There will be onscreen text when this occurs the first time stating: "Deathstroke has Activated the Ikon Suit Prototype!". This is a damage check phase. If the group do not deactivate the Ikon Suit in time, Deathstroke will deal massive raidwide damage and knock back to all affected players. In the elite version this may cause KO's. (More info needed on mechanic name for damage check fail)
Some of the below phases may be skipped in the regular version with sufficient damage in the group, however they are likely to be more of an issue in the elite version.
Disable Neutralizers to Regain Focus[]
- There will be onscreen text stating: "Deathstroke has Teleported in Neutralizer Machines!". During this time several large machines will spawn in the fight.
- There will also be onscreen text stating: "Only the Neutralized can disable the corresponding Power Neutralizer!"
- At some stage during this phase, one of each role will get debuffed, and the affected role will need to go to the corresponding neutralizer machine and activate the icon to lift the debuff.
- If DPS are debuffed, a DPS will need to go to the red neutralizer machine and activate the red DPS icon to lift the damage debuff.
- If the controller is debuffed, a Controller will need to go to the blue neutralizer machine and activate the blue controller icon to lift the power debuff.
- If the healers are debuffed, one of the healers will need to go to the green neutralizer machine and activate the green healer icon to lift the healing debuff.
- If the tanks are debuffed, one of the tanks will need to go to the yellow neutralizer machine and activate the yellow tank icon to lift the defence debuff.
- Power Suppressor Pod: If a player is in close range of a neutralizer machine they may take very mild damage over time.
- There is a Power Neutralizer in the middle of the room that can be attacked by players (optional). There will be an on-screen text pop-up for this stating: "Destroying the central Neutralizer will disconnect the network!" This is one possible way to end the phase.
Avoid Floor Traps, Dodge Tracking Beams[]
- There will be onscreen text stating: "Deathstroke has Activated some sort of floor trap!". Shortly after parts of the floor will go red, and you will need to stand on the parts of the floor that are not red. These safe zones will change. If players stand on the red areas unshielded for too long they will take considerable damage over time, or heavy damage over time in the elite version. Eventually there will be no safe zones left so it is important that you pass through the phase as soon as possible, especially in the elite version.
- Also during this phase, there will be another onscreen text stating: "Deathstroke has activated tracking beams!" Yellow beams from above will appear and follow certain players. These should be avoided or they will deal heavy damage (More info needed)
- This phase can be passed by damaging Deathstroke. There will be a smaller on-screen text pop-up stating: "Keep attacking Deathstroke to overload the floor traps!"
After the group has defeated Deathstroke, Jericho possesses him. You will proceed through several more corridors and defeat more H.I.V.E. enemies, before eventually entering a volcano room where Terra, the final boss, awaits you.
Last boss: Terra[]
A very interesting boss fight in both regular and elite versions. The gas phases can be tricky if the group don't adhere to mechanics quickly/efficiently enough. The elite version is one of the more difficult boss encounters for regular elite difficulty in DC Universe Online. Two tanks may be recommended in the elite version.
On PS, Hold R1 to Block
Mechanics:
Many of Terra's red skull icon abilities, it is best practice to block. This is especially the case in the elite version.
- Spike Wave: Terra may look at a player while having a red skull icon above her head. She will then do her Spike Wave cone attack. This will do heavy damage/KO and knock back if any players in front of her don't block or evade this mechanic. Note that there may not always be a tell beforehand before this, and she may use this ability on random occasions as well towards the direction of the player who has her aggro.
- Volcanic Eruption: If a player uses an Orbital Strike on Terra, she will have a red skull icon above her head before spawning lava underneath that player. This will do considerable damage (most likely KO in the elite version) if the affected player doesn't evade this in time. It is best practice (especially in the elite version) not to use an Orbital Strike on Terra.
- Tectonic Break: Terra will have a red skull icon above her head before she lifts into the air, spawning rocks around her. This may do considerable damage to players in range.
- Flow: Terra may summon a small wave of lava in front of her. This will deal considerable damage if players are affected.
- Earthen Grip: Terra will have a red skull icon above her head while looking at a random player, and then will try to pull the player towards her. Does significant damage if the targeted player doesn't block.
- Striking Stones: Terra may target a random player and summon two stones either side of them, colliding on the player. This does considerable damage unless the player is blocking.
- Meteor Shower: Terra may spawn a meteor shower AOE on a random target, player or NPC. Does damage over time while affected.
Lava phase (Survive Environmental Hazards):[]
This phase will occur four times during a boss attempt.
- Seismic Emission: Terra will normally use this ability when she is about to transition into the Lava phase. She will have a red skull icon before dealing mild to moderate damage to players in melee range or midrange, and knocking affected players back.
- Terra will blink to the top of a rock on the southwest of the room, declaring in VoiceOver: "I'll bury you all!". There will shortly after be onscreen text stating: "Terra is summong the earth itself to attack you! Avoid the lava!"
- The room will be divided into three sections by rocks, with the lava section having an ember AOE over it beforehand. There is a feat for the group standing in the lava section (in the elite version every time this phase occurs). Note that the rock division will block line of sight, so if you are in a separate section to a healer don't expect to receive heals from the healer during this phase.
- If group members are stood in the ember AOE before the room is divided, lava will spawn underneath them, dealing considerable damage over time. (This is displayed as Something in the combat log). In addition a Lava Creature add will spawn, which the player/s in that section will need to defeat.
- If group members are stood in one of the other two areas before the room is divided, Whirlwind AOEs will spawn. These will deal damage over time to affected players, and may stun and lift affected players into the air. In addition a Rock Creature add will spawn, which the player/s in that section will need to defeat.
- If group members are stood in the other area before the room is divided, there will be white circle markers on the ground which players will need to avoid. If not, Boulder Barrage from above will hit affected players and deal moderate damage and some knockback. In addition a Rock Creature add will spawn, which the player/s in that section will need to defeat.
Gas phase (Volcanic vent phase):[]
- There will be onscreen text stating: "Terra has opened volcanic vents and filled the room with sulphuric gas!" This phase will occur three times during a boss attempt.
- During this phase Terra will be shielded and take significantly lower damage from the group. There will be onscreen text stating: "Terra shields herself, decreasing incoming damage!"
- Once the gas AOE appears, there will be onscreen text stating: "Defeat Terra's creatures and plug the volcanic vents with their remains!"
- Sulfuric Gas: This does persistent damage over time to all group members in the fight while this phase is active. You will still be able to revive players if other group members are knocked out while being hit by this damage over time.
- During the first phase, Rock Creature adds* will spawn, and will need to be defeated as soon as possible by the group. When they are defeated, they will leave a rock which group members will be able to interact with and pick up. Consider that these rocks have a timer on them and will expire when that timer runs out. Should this happen another Rock Creature will spawn in its place.
- *During the second phase, Magma Creature adds will spawn and will be somewhat stronger than Rock Creatures.
- *During the third phase, Lava Creature adds will spawn and will be somewhat stronger than Magma Creatures.
- On each corner of the room is a Hydrothermal Vent, which will be connected to one of the rocks you have picked up. You will need to place a rock over that location in order to plug the vent. While stood in close range of the vent you will take damage. When all four vents are plugged the phase will end and Terra will lose her shield.
- If the phase continues for too long, there will be onscreen text stating: "The build up of sulfuric gas has hampered your ability to heal!" This will reduce healing for group members and make it increasingly tricky to pass the phase, especially in the elite version.
- During each subsequent phase, there will be onscreen text stating: "Terra's rage has made her more powerful!". Terra will get stronger as the fight continues with her attack animations having more of a lava element with time. In addition the Sulfuric Gas damage over time will become slightly stronger also. As such the boss encounter will become gradually more difficult with time.
- (Elite only) During this phase when picking up a rock you will be grounded, making it trickier to plug the vents in time. The group will need to time manage defeating adds and plugging the vents with this in consideration. It is possible to throw the rocks but given the awkward structure of the vents this isn't a reliable method.
(Elite only) Rage phase:[]
- This occurs when Terra is at approximately 15% health or lower.
- There will be onscreen text stating: "Terra's rage is bringing down the cavern!"
- Boulder Barrage will occur again for all areas of the map. Players should try to mitigate incoming damage or knockback from falling boulders and focus on KOing Terra while minding her own mechanics.
When she is defeated, she causes the chamber to collapse on her and the Jericho-possessed Deathstroke. Jericho leaves his body and escapes, but leaving the two villains' fates unknown.

Trivia[]
- The map for Titans: The Machine is the same as the one as Titans: H.I.V.E. Reborn, taking place in the room after Terra's chamber. During Titans: H.I.V.E. Reborn it is blocked by red energy barriers. In the corridor leading to Terra's chamber there is also a screen claiming to be "live feed" from H.I.V.E. Master's chamber, although the red energy barriers are turned off in the image.
- Deathstroke is revealed to have survived the ceiling collapse, and turns up in Metal Part I.
