Sub-Avatar

Sub-Avatars are robotic units based on the designs of the Avatar of Meta, Avatar of Tech and Avatar of Magic. While not as powerful as the original units, the sub-avatars are under mass production by the Brainiac Union in Old Gotham.

When killed, a Sub-Avatar always immediately drops a piece of Astral Alloy gear (level 52) depending on type, then offers a Loot Picker with the option of 2 pieces of generic gear, which scales to your Combat Rating, with a maximum Item Level of 350.

Sub-Avatars can be seen gradually being built on construction platforms (which can be identified by their orange and purple energy pillars) spread throughout Old Gotham. When completed, the Sub-Avatar becomes attackable. The building time taken is in the realm of half an hour and it appears to only progress while a player is nearby so it is quite time-consuming trying to kill them. They will wander off if no players are around for them to attack (and might despawn after a while). For very high level players trying to get their drops, they might want to stand next to a platform and check back to the game every few minutes so when a Sub-Avatar spawns it will be stuck there attacking you.
If you move too far from a platform and return (with no other players in the area), the Sub-Avatar construction will be reset to the first stage. However, this also rerolls the type of Sub-Avatar, so it is very useful if you are hunting for specific pieces of Astral Alloy (e.g. the Sub-Avatar of magic always drops either the chest or legs piece).
