Metallo is a radioactive intelligent cyborg with a kryptonite power source in his heart, which he uses as a weapon against Superman. This deadly radiation can kill the Man of Steel through exposure alone, although his cybernetic enhancements make him very physically powerful.
Background[]
Small-time conman John Corben was nearly crushed in a car accident, but robotic specialist Emmett Vale rescued Corben, transplanting his still-functioning brain into a robotic body powered by kryptonite. After Corben's operation, Vale told Corben he had to destroy Superman; fearing an invasion from Krypton. Corben instead snapped Vale's neck and embarked on a career as a rampaging, homicidal nightmare who desired nothing less than the death of Superman.
Alternate Future[]
In the alternate timeline where the conflict between heroes and villains has escalated to war, Wonder Woman confronted Metallo in combat, beheading him before being assailed by Deathstroke.

- Metallo first appeared in Action Comics #252 (May 1959)
- Metallo's voice is provided by voice actor Ryan Wickerham.
- Metallo appeared in the opening cinematic in favor of Solomon Grundy, due to the belief the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) would have taken strongly to Grundy's decapitation
- Despite his powers being classified as Atomic, the Green Lantern Corps symbol will occasionally appear whenever Metallo is brawling. This is most likely because Light is the power with the closest color scheme to Green Kryptonite.
