Mercy Graves is a highly skilled, highly professional woman of Amazonian heritage who serves as Lex Luthor's personal bodyguard, chauffeur and, on occasion, advanced operative and assassin.
History[]
Not much is known about Mercy's history prior to her employment at LexCorp where she became Lex Luthor's personal assistant and bodyguard due to her Amazonian heritage and professional incorruptibility. Mercy was used as Luthor's advanced operative during Gotham City's No Man's Land incident, escorting Bane into the evicted city and prepping the area for Luthor's takeover; which ultimately failed due to the Batman's involvement.
Following Luthor's election to presidency, Mercy was hired alongside another Amazon, named Hope Taya, to be Luthor's bodyguard during his presidency. While Hope attempted to leave Luthor's employ after witnessing Luthor's "concern" for his employees' well being, Mercy remained with him as a matter of professional loyalty.
After Luthor lost his Presidency, Mercy remained alongside him during his status as a fugitive from justice and continued to serve after Luthor was "cleared" of any suspicion due to the emergence of Alexander Luthor's dead body; placing all blame on his Multiversal counterpart.
During the commencement of Luthor's "Be Your Own Hero" program, Mercy is wounded after shooting at Steel, who attempted to attack Luthor during a dinner a party. The bullets she fires at him are returned at her via magnetic manipulation and the superheated metal burns her hand and wrist.
Following Luthor's "shutdown" of the program and the subsequent deaths of the program's various applicants, Mercy attempted to pursue a more benevolent employment following Luthor's imprisonment.
Taking the codename "Vanilla," Mercy joins the Infinity Inc. team wearing a special mask to prevent previous contacts from recognizing her. She leaves the group shortly after nearly beating a man to death, realizing that she isn't cut out to be a hero.
