The Blue Lantern Corps symbol
The Blue Lantern Corps is an inter-galactic missionary-force dedicated to spreading hope in the face of adversity throughout the universe.
Following the rise of the Sinestro Corps, Oan Guardians Ganthet and Sayd were banished from Oa due to their willingness to embrace emotions and the love they had for one another. Settling on the planet Odym, the two realized that the Guardians of the Universe would ignore the inevitability of the Blackest Night prophecy. Realizing that the Green Lantern Corps could not succeed alone, the two decided to form the Blue Lantern Corps to assist the Green Lanterns.
Harnessing the blue light of hope from the emotional spectrum, the pair created the Blue Lantern Power Battery, the first Blue Lantern Power Ring and chose Saint Walker of Space Sector 1 as the corps' first member.

- The corps' power is fueled by the hope of all sentient creatures in the universe.
- Adara is the entity that is the embodiment of hope.
- Protocol in the Blue Lantern Corps has the newest member select the next candidate for the corps. In this spirit Saint Walker of Sector 1 chose Brother Warth of Sector 2 who in turn chose Brother Hymn of Sector 3. Brother Hymn selected Sister Sercy of Sector 4 to join, Sister Sercy being the newest member will select the next person to join the Blue Lantern Corps as representative of Sector 5.
- Of all the lights in the Emotional Spectrum, Hope is the most powerful of all. However, it requires the presence of the emerald light of Will to work at its full potential.
