A Deadly New Mystery is #1 of the Story Blogs, released on 25 December 2024. It can be read here. It is set in Gotham in the aftermath of events in Harley Quinn vs. Apokolips, following The Exobyte Killer (Briefings).
It serves as part of the prelude to Day of Reckoning.
Summary[]
Jim Gordon uses the Bat-Signal to call upon Batman for help over an apparent serial killer case. Gordon suggests Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy, which Batman finds unlikely.
Batman goes to Catwoman to discuss the investigation. The latter mentions Jack Ryder blames Harley Quinn, which Catwoman rejects. Selina also offers a possible lead; Kite Man allegedly crossed paths with the killer, but is not on their list.

- "Kite-Man" is spelled as such in the Story Blog, while Kite Man Doll Accessory spells it with a space.
- Catwoman mentions Condiment King, who does not yet appear in DC Universe Online, although Condiment Master belt exists as a style item. She also jokingly suggests to "Ask if the killer prefers aioli or mustard on their sandwich?"; aioli is a yellow condiment, although Condiment King is typically depicted with yellow mustard and red ketchup.
